Shedd Aquarium

A GREAT MOMENT IN SHEDD AQUARIUM

On Friday 24th, I went to the Shedd Aquarium with my classmates and we had a great moment.  I could see different fishes including caimans, green sea turtles, giant pacific octopuses, sea lions and bullfrogs. It was amazing!!!

One of my favorites parts of the visit was the dolphins. I took the opportunity to record a video for my parents and friends in Chile.

In the middle of the hall there was a small tank with a fish inside. I had the opportunity to touch it. It was unbelievable, because they were interacting with people all time. Its name is Lake Sturgeon.

I also could see the  jellies.  There are different beautiful types of them and I took a lot of pictures.

I think people couln't miss the opportunity to see different beautiful fishes, including sea horses, green anacondas, sharks, red-bellied piranhas and beluga whales. Among others.

My Adventures in Chicago

NEW EXPERIENCES

WILLIS TOWER

Yesterday, my friends and I went to the Willis Tower which is one of the tallest in the world, located in the heart of downtown.  It was amazing!!! I could not miss the opportunity to appreciate the skyline. Definitely, I will never forget this experience...

ICE SKATING

Last weekend, I went to Millennium Park to ice skating and I had a great moment with my friends. Even though, I felt in the middle of the skating rink I enjoyed the experience.

PARTY

Another funny experience was when my classmates and I wanted to go to a party in order to have a good time.  We took the subway at 2:am and we got lost because we passed away from the correct subway station LOL. But we came back next day and found the correct place. Here is the evidence.

The Harold Washington Library

The Harold Washington Library

On January 16th, I went to the Harold Washington Library wich is one of the largest public library building around the world. The building has a beautiful architecture and history.

I think the most surprising aspect of Chicago is how big is the city comparated with Chile.  I think the people are respectful and nice (obviously there are exceptions). I also had the opportunity to talk with people from different countries and practicing my English.

I think the food is delicious but expensive and I miss chilean food.  My favorite meal was chicken with sweet and sour sauce.  And the least favorite one was black bean salad.

On the other hand, I think the weather is according to the season´s city but I would like to come in a few months more and enjoy the sun.

I have enjoyed every day since I arrived to the city. When I knew the snow I was very excited because I knew not.  I think the architecture and history of each place are beautiful.

My daily life in Chile is very stressful because I'm studying Engineering and I don´t have free time.  And although I also miss my family, friends and food  I´m enjoying every place I visit and everything I do.  I will never forget this experience.

Winter in Chicago

MY FIRST DAYS IN CHICAGO

I'm Andrea Godoy I come from Chile and  I live in Santiago.  I'm  studying Engineering in Business Administration mention Human Resources.

I live with my parents Erika and Jose.  I have an older brother called Cristian and many good friends. I have pet, his name is Bruno.

I like to go out with my friends, listening music and watching movies.  On weekends, I also like riding my bike to be in a good shape.

I came to Chicago, because I want to improve my pronunciation and fluency. I'd also like to visit different beautiful places, for example The Millennium Park and to learn about the Chicago's culture.

I think the Picasso sculpture represents Picasso's creativity and innovative style.

The Art Institute of Chicago is located in Chicago's Grant Park and It's one of the most famous museums around the world.

The Museum is on Michigan Avenue with two bronze lion statues created by Edward Kemeys, that was one of my favorites parts of the visit.  It includes American art, decorative arts and beautiful architecture.
